Hey there, Daddy-O
Shane
Johnson hopes to
rock the fashion world with
his hip designs
...
Johnson was accepted at one of the country's most prestigious fashion
design schools, Otis School of Art and Design in Los Angeles, and immediately
was noticed by the chairman of the school's fashion department, Rosemary
Brantley.
...
Brantley calls him an "Elvis Presley of the '50s with a '90s twist,"
a tall, lanky poster boy for the rockabilly set with a slicked-back
'do chain-draped wallet and rolled up shirts. ...she knows his individuality
is an immeasurable asset that can take him far in a cutthroat business.
...The
clothes wearing the Shane label are stitched in fabrics such as brushed
cotton, polyester/rayon blends and lambskin leather. They are classic,
functional styles with no unnecessary ornamentation, but quality touches
such as double stitching and double pockets and pleats that make
them hang just so.
The
trademark Johnson style is there: high-waisted trousers he calls "Big
Daddy O's" plaid shirts with Western-style stitching and pockets,
jeans with giant cuffs, broad-shouldered box jackets, and the zoot suit-inspired
"Long Daddy Drop Crotch" trousers.
